Modern equipment is now used for dry cupping. A suction pump and disposable plastic cups are used to create a vacuum. Previously animal horns, or glass cups were used in conjunction with fire to create the vacuum, but due to ease of use and safety, we no longer use this equipment.

The equipment we use allows more precise suction depending upon the strength and age of the Patient. The skin rises and reddens as blood vessels expand which promotes blood circulation. This in turn, releases stagnant energy and re-energizes the Patient.

 Cups are left between 5- 10 minutes. No incisions are made. The toxins are then discharged naturally. Used as preventative and treatment for certain ailments. The marks disappear in about 3-10 days depending on different patient.

Unlike Hijama, this cupping can be done anytime, and on any day, not requiring fasting or other restrictions.

Dry Cupping is mainly used in Hijama to verify the toxins. If certain area of the body is dry cupped and turns darker than others this implies toxins, then hijamah is directly done on that point, to release the toxins.
